We at the Vermont Council of Teachers of Mathematics (VCTM) believe in building an inclusive math community of students and educators through conversation, shared resources around evidence-based practices, and connections throughout Vermont and beyond.

VCTM will be hosting its annual fall conference on Monday, October 5, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Vermont State University Campus, Randolph, VT. This year's conference theme is Find your Math Path: To Proficiency & Beyond.

In order for students to be mathematically proficient they need opportunities to build conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, strategic competence, adaptive reasoning and productive disposition.

We are thrilled to be able to offer a wide range of presentations and a keynote from Annie Fetter, Sense Making: Is it at the core of your classroom, schools and districts? The morning sessions will each be 50 minutes long and the afternoon sessions will be 100 minutes with a 10 minute break. The afternoon double sessions are meant to give more time for deep conversation and hands-on learning. Participants can attend both sessions or switch during the break.
