VCTM strongly believes in building an inclusive math community of students and educators through conversation, shared resources around evidence-based practices, and connections throughout Vermont and beyond.

VCTM will be hosting its annual spring conference, Powerful Mathematics, on Friday March 21, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at St. Michael’s College in Colchester, VT. Mathematical power is the know-how and confidence to use math to inform decisions and navigate the demands of daily life – whether personal, professional or civic. Educators can build each of their student’s mathematical power in many ways such as choosing a powerful mathematical curriculum, using evidence-based instruction and assessment or promoting equity and inclusion. VCTM urges all to not only reflect on what Powerful Mathematics means in your educational spaces, but act on that reflection and join your many math colleagues from around Vermont and New England in a powerful day of professional learning that includes a keynote, 20+ session program, and lunch.

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. India White as the 2025 Keynote Speaker. Dr. India White is a TEDx speaker, national educational consultant, author of 60+ books, and co-author for Savvas Learning Company. India is a 3-time graduate of the University of Florida, majoring in math, educational leadership and educational leadership and administration. White has held positions as a math teacher, math coach, Assistant Principal, and a National Ed Consultant. India’s mission is to find out how to use equitable practices while developing grit in students to bridge the achievement gap. Check out Dr. White’s TEDx Talk:
