Who We Are:

The Board of VCTM is a passionate group of K-12 & university mathematics educators as well as industry leaders that wish to honor the mission of VCTM while also playing a central role in providing a wealth of opportunity for both teachers and students of mathematics to learn and grow outside of the classroom.

We are a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit with affiliations to NCTM, NCSM and ATMNE as well as close collaboration with the Vermont Agency of Education.

2026 Fall Conference - Monday, October 5, 2026

We at the Vermont Council of Teachers of Mathematics (VCTM) believe in building an inclusive math community of students and educators through conversation, shared resources around evidence-based practices, and connections throughout Vermont and beyond.

VCTM will be hosting its annual fall conference on Monday, October 5, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Vermont State University Campus, Randolph, VT. This year's conference theme is Find your Math Path: To Proficiency & Beyond!

In order for students to be mathematically proficient they need opportunities to build conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, strategic competence, adaptive reasoning and productive disposition.

Do you have a math colleague in your school who is doing an amazing job with their students and think they should be recognized?

VCTM will recognize these teachers at our fall conference in October. We will accept nominations until September 25, 2026. We have two awards - VCTM Rookie of the Year Award and
VCTM Excellence in Teaching of Mathematics Award - with elementary (K-5), middle (6-8), and high school (9-12) for each award.
