The first Talent Search test of the 2016-17 school year has just been posted on the web site of the Vermont State Mathematics Coalition www.vtmathcoalition.org/talent-search
Please take a look at it yourself and encourage your talented mathematics students to do so also and submit their solutions.
Note that the winners are invited to attend the Governor's Institute in the Mathematical Sciences at UVM tuition free, to be a part of the team that represents Vermont at the ARML meet at Penn State as well as recognition at a dinner in their honor.
If you have any questions, please contact me.

The Vermont State Mathematics Coalition’s “Expanding Horizons” program is now in its 21st year of providing college/university mathematics professors to come to your classroom at no charge to your school.
- If you have used EH in the past, try to convince your colleagues to use this service.
- If you are a department head or lead teacher, consider what other schools have done.
Ask an EH participant to speak to more than one class while visiting your school.
If you are a classroom teacher looking for innovative ways to enrich your students’ mathematical experience, review the list of EH presenters with a colleague.
The process is simple, Follow the link: Expanding Horizons
Allow sufficient notice as these professors have heavy schedules. Due to time/travel constraints, presenters reserve the right to decline an invitation.
Your questions and feedback on the program are appreciated. Send them to me atdevino13@comcast.net or call me at 802-863-5403

Presidents' Forward:
Aaahhhh… spring. We’ve made it through the mud, and there are flowers blooming here in Washington County. As we push through the final weeks of teaching and testing, keep in mind that VCTM is here to build our community of math educators by facilitating conversation and sharing resources. We are very excited about our new website and its potential to fulfill our Mission here in Vermont. As always, if you have ideas or would like to join the Board of Directors, please reach out to us—we would love to have you help support our work.
